The MIKROE-4036 BG51 Radiation Click Board from MikroE is a detector for beta and gamma radiation and X-rays. It offers a detector sensitivity of 5 cpm/µSv/h and high immunity to RF fields. The Radiation Click Board is based on the BG51 radiation sensor from Teviso Sensor Technologies, with its function based on an array of customized PIN diodes. The performance of the Radiation Click Board with its solid-state sensor, in combination with high immunity to electrostatic fields, makes it a good choice for new state-of-the-art designs as well as for upgrading existing designs for detecting beta and gamma radiation and X-rays. Applications include equipment for detecting radioactivity in medical environments, radiation monitors for nuclear safeguards and security, gamma detectors to detect illicit nuclear material, and natural sciences courses and practical lab experiments. Key features include detection of beta and gamma radiation and X-rays, a detector sensitivity of 5 cpm/µSv/h, high immunity to RF and electrostatic fields, and a linear response over a wide temperature range (-30°C to 60°C). The interface is GPIO, compatibility is mikroBUS, and the size is L (57.15 x 25.4 mm). Input voltage is 5V.
